Becca and I go way back to the days of Children's church and high school. This long time friend will be getting married soon to the boy she loves, Austin. Their downtown Raleigh engagement session was one for the books, and I cannot wait for the wedding this October!
I have a whole lot of love for these friends. Cori was one of my very best friends on project in Charleston during the summer of 2013. She speaks truth and grace so well into the lives of the people around her, so it is no wonder that Zach fell for her. They fell in love during their time as students at Lenoir-Rhyne University. They are now on staff with Cru as a part of the Charlotte Metro team, and it makes my heart happy that I get to see them for as long as we're all going to conferences together. Their wedding day was the rainiest I have ever shot, but that didn't keep it from also being one of the sweetest. Here's to you, Cori and Zach!
James and Leigh were married on a beautiful spring day in Knoxville, TN. I first met Leigh when we were on project together in Charleston during the sweltering summer of 2013. James and I met later on while we were both in a support raising season for Cru staff. Both have become dear friends and I cherish them greatly. Thankful for their friendship, and for this day that glorified their savior so sweetly.
These friends hold a special place in my heart. I met Sarah and Ed this past summer while we were all at new staff training for Cru down in Orlando. Sarah and I actually had the pleasure of being roommates. Over the course of our six week stint there, we had the chance to share a lot of pillow talk, morning coffee, and snapchats from each other's beds. Sarah and Ed met through a Cru summer project in Gatlinburg, TN during the summer of 2012. From there, their relationship grew and developed as Ed spent a year overseas, and then returned to the States to be on staff with Cru at the College of Charleston, where Sarah was finishing her senior year. They were engaged in May of 2014, and tied the knot on a beautiful December day at the magnificent Magnolia Plantation. I love these friends, and I am so excited to share these pictures with you. Now Presenting: #SarahAndEdGetWed I should preface this post by saying that the Lord ordained this wedding through the details of this day: 67 degrees and sunny in the middle of December?! What the heck? One of the most beautiful things about Sarah and Ed's wedding was the way that Jesus was reflected throughout the entire day. During the ceremony, Sarah and Ed washed each other's feet, in the same way that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. Their first act as a married couple was to take communion together, after which they proceeded to invite every person at their wedding to come and take of the same bread and cup. What a beautiful reflection of the way that Jesus has invited each of us to be his bride, to drink of his cup, and to be adopted into his family through his redemptive work on the cross. These pictures cannot do justice to the beauty and heart behind this ceremony. Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. 2 During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, 4 rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” 8 Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.”9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”10 Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet,[a] but is completely clean. And you[b] are clean, but not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.” 12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant[c]is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. JOHN 13:1-17 22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, “This is myblood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many. v25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” MARK 14:22-25 Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Perkins! I love you both dearly.

Zach and Emily's day was such a reflection of Christ and the love that He has poured out for each of us. It was such a blessing to be a part of this day and to have the chance to witness all of the special moments that went along with it. Here are some of my favorite shots from throughout the day :) Congrats Momma Duck and Dad.
This couple holds a special place in my life and my heart. Emily and Zach first met way back when as wee-little freshmen in college, but it wasn't until last summer when they lead a Cru summer project together that sparks started flying.
